GAVIN NEWSOM IS RUNNING SCARED AND DOING EVERYTHING TO DESPERATELY CLING TO POWER

Los Angeles County – Gavin Newsom sees the writing on the wall—his days of hurting Californians and putting his special interest friends first are numbered. He sent out a desperate fundraising e-mail over the weekend using Caitlyn Jenner’s name trying to scare Californians into supporting his losing campaign. He has even resorted to endangering and lying to the public about wildfire prevention projects that are critical to ensuring vulnerable Californians stay safe during wildfire season. Today, Newsom and his Sacramento allies are meeting to change recall election laws in a blatant attempt to take the election out of the hands of Californians.

“Gavin Newsom and his Democrat friends are trying to change the recall election rules in a desperate attempt to cling to power,” Caitlyn Jenner said. “This recall election has been powered by everyday Californians who are sick and tired of Gavin’s continued power grabs and him putting his special interest friends first. They are franticly holding on to whatever control they have left and no matter how hard they try, they won’t be able to rob this election from us.”

ASSOCIATED PRESS: California Democrats Again Seek To Alter Laws As Gov. Gavin Newsom Faces Recall

“Now, as Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom faces a recall of his own, they’re trying to change the laws again. This time, though, Democrats want the option to speed things up to take advantage of what they see as favorable conditions for Newsom.”

“Jack Citrin, a political science professor at the University of California, Berkeley, said changing the calendar threatens to reinforce the public’s cynicism about politicians doing whatever they can to stay in power.”

“‘They’re trying to create a situation that is most favorable for the partisan outcome that they favor,’” said Citrin, who has studied trust in government and California’s initiative process.”

CAPRADIO: Newsom Misled the Public About Wildfire Prevention Efforts Ahead Of Worst Fire Season On Record

“Overall, California’s response has faltered under Newsom.”

“An investigation from CapRadio and NPR’s California Newsroom found the governor has misrepresented his accomplishments and even disinvested in wildfire prevention. The investigation found Newsom overstated, by an astounding 690%, the number of acres treated with fuel breaks and prescribed burns in the very forestry projects he said needed to be prioritized to protect the state’s most vulnerable communities. Newsom has claimed that 35 ‘priority projects’ carried out as a result of his executive order resulted in fire prevention work on 90,000 acres. But the state’s own data show the actual number is 11,399.”
